Helge Schneider briefly halts Ellwangen concert due to technical issues

Entertainer Helge Schneider briefly interrupted his concert at the Landesgartenschau in Ellwangen after approximately 20 minutes due to technical difficulties. The musician initially left the stage, stating, “I actually want to drive on and waive the fee. I don't feel like it anymore.”

Stefan Powolny, the managing director of the Landesgartenschau, clarified that the interruption was caused by sound engineering issues rather than personal temperament. While the soundcheck was successful, the venue's system only received the signal from Schneider's own mixing setup on a single channel during the performance. This resulted in insufficient volume for the crowd of 7,000 people. Simply increasing the volume was not a viable solution as it would have caused feedback with other systems, and a permanent fix would have required extensive re-cabling.

Following an appeal from Powolny to the audience to remain calm, Schneider and his band returned to the stage. They completed the performance with an additional 90 minutes of jazz music and comedic interludes.
