Helgoland ferry services disrupted by North Sea storms

Severe weather conditions in the North Sea, characterized by storms, heavy rain, and high waves, have caused widespread cancellations of ferry services to the island of Helgoland. The German Weather Service (DWD) issued warnings for storm gusts and thunderstorms, leading to significant disruptions for travelers.

Several shipping companies have been affected. Adler & Eils suspended trips from Wilhelmshaven and Büsum, with the vessel ‘Funny Girl’ expected to resume service on Monday. FRS Helgoline and Cassen Eils have also seen near-total cancellations over the weekend. While most regular connections like the ‘Halunder Jet’ and ‘Nordlicht’ are suspended, some limited services, such as the ‘MS Helgoland’ from Cuxhaven, may still operate depending on direct carrier confirmation.

While Helgoland has faced major isolation, ferry services to Sylt, Föhr, Amrum, and the Halligen have not reported total cancellations as of the latest updates, though travelers are advised to check specific schedules.
