Kenya helicopter crash kills seven, including Ecuadorian official FAST-MOVING

A Eurocopter EC130 B4 helicopter crashed near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County, Kenya, on Wednesday morning, killing all seven people on board. The victims included one pilot and six passengers. Among the deceased were four Americans and Michele Sensi-Contugi, the director of Ecuador's National Intelligence Center, along with his wife, Stephany Hollihan.

The aircraft, registered as 5Y-GYM, was conducting a scenic flight from the Loisaba Wildlife Reserve toward the Ewaso Nyiro area when the accident occurred at approximately 09:13 local time. The helicopter was reportedly operating a charter flight for the luxury tour operator &Beyond.

Emergency response efforts, involving the Kenya Red Cross and other multi-agency teams, were hampered by rugged terrain and active fires at the crash site. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is coordinating the response, while the Air Accident Investigation Department is leading an official probe to determine the cause of the crash.
