Helicopter rescues conducted for hikers in Taiwan and Hong Kong

Emergency services in Taiwan and Hong Kong conducted helicopter rescues for hikers in distress.

In Taiwan, a 45-year-old man was rescued from Nanhu Mountain in Heping District after spraining his left foot and becoming unable to walk. The Taichung City Fire Bureau deployed the Lishan squad and requested assistance from the National Airborne Service Corps. The man was airlifted to Nanhu Mountain Lodge and subsequently transported to Dongshi Farmers Hospital by ambulance. Following the incident, authorities fined the man 20,000 TWD for failing to possess required emergency first aid capabilities and for not having the mandatory mountain hiking insurance required for special controlled mountain areas.

In Hong Kong, an elderly woman was rescued via helicopter at Po To Tsai in Sai Kung after experiencing dizziness and fatigue, suspected to be heatstroke, during high temperatures. The Government Flying Service responded to the call to airlift the woman to the hospital for medical examination.
