Helium launches HeliumOS connectivity platform
Helium has announced the launch of HeliumOS, an integrated operating system designed for the business of connectivity. The platform aims to provide carriers, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), network operators, and brands with the software necessary to launch and scale connectivity services.
The platform addresses challenges in wireless infrastructure, specifically targeting the gap in indoor connectivity where macro networks often degrade. HeliumOS is intended to allow carriers to leverage existing Wi-Fi connectivity with greater visibility and control, while providing businesses with a unified operational stack for subscriber management, billing, and carrier integrations.
Developed using technology from the Helium Network and Helium Mobile, the platform is positioned as a commercial solution for ISPs and consumer brands. Helium CEO Mario Di Dio noted that the platform seeks to meet the growing expectation for reliable, seamless connectivity.
