Helldivers 2 releases Devoid of Liberty update and joins PlayStation Plus

Helldivers 2 has released a new update titled ‘Devoid of Liberty,’ which introduces the ‘Void’—a new frontier on the galactic map featuring mutated environments and the return of the Illuminate faction. The update includes new mission types, such as destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, conducting data reconnaissance, and infiltrating enemy structures. Players will also encounter new mutated enemies, including the fast-moving ‘Wretch’ and the ‘Crusher.’

To support gameplay, the update introduces the SEAF (Super Earth Armed Forces) squad, consisting of specialized NPCs like Squad Leader C. Zhang, Medic STIMmothy, Rifleman A. Aaronson, and Specialist B. Devaux. These units are designed to provide tactical support, healing, and heavy fire to players. Additionally, the update adds four new emotes and various player titles.

Coinciding with this content release, Helldivers 2 is now available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe members via the Game Catalog.
