Hellenic Aerospace Industry expands into space and aircraft modernization
The Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAV) is expanding its capabilities into the aerospace and space sectors. Alexandros Diakopoulos, President and CEO of EAV, announced the construction of a Clean Room facility designed for the assembly, completion, and final testing of satellites weighing up to 500 kilograms.
In addition to space initiatives, the company is heavily involved in aircraft modernization. EAV has already modernized 60 F-16 Block 52 fighter jets to the Viper version, a project expected to conclude by 2027. The company is also pursuing a project to upgrade F-16 Block 50 aircraft to the Viper standard in collaboration with Lockheed Martin.
Furthermore, EAV will begin upgrading four Canadair CL-415 firefighting aircraft to the CL-515 version this October. This process involves installing advanced electronics and glass cockpits.
