Hellenic Cables Secures International Certification for 525 kV HVDC XLPE Cables

Hellenic Cables, the cable division of Cenergy Holdings, completed certification of its 525 kV HVDC XLPE cable systems for both subsea and underground applications. The subsea system met the requirements of CIGRE Technical Guide 852, while the underground system satisfied both CIGRE Guide 852 and IEC 62895 standards, confirming reliable performance at continuous 80 °C operation.

General Director Kostas Savvakis said the achievement demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and technical excellence, expands its portfolio of advanced HVDC solutions, and strengthens its position in the global high‑voltage cable market.
