Hellenic Capital Market Commission releases Investor Dictionary–Guide
The Hellenic Capital Market Commission, in collaboration with the Institute of Financial Literacy, has released the ‘Investor Dictionary–Guide.’ This comprehensive educational resource is designed to provide citizens with a reliable and scientifically documented tool to understand investments and the functioning of capital markets.
The publication is part of the Commission’s five-year strategic plan to enhance financial literacy. By educating investors, the initiative aims to complement market supervision, protect the investing public, increase trust, and promote smoother market operations. The guide contains approximately 300 entries covering topics such as basic investment principles, financial products, market mechanics, risk and return, diversification, and investment strategies.
Written by Nikolaos Filippas, a Professor of Finance at the University of Piraeus and President of the Institute of Financial Literacy, the guide seeks to present complex financial concepts in a simple and clear manner without sacrificing scientific accuracy. It is intended for current market participants, new investors, students, and the general public.
