Hellenic Dermatological, Venereological and Aphrodisiac Society launches awareness campaign

The Hellenic Dermatological, Venereological and Aphrodisiac Society (HEDVAS) has launched an awareness campaign focused on autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases. The initiative aims to educate the public about conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, alopecia areata, and hidradenitis suppurativa.

According to the society, these conditions significantly impact patients' quality of life, psychological well-being, and daily routines. The campaign also seeks to combat the social stigma and isolation often experienced by sufferers due to public ignorance.

The campaign, which began in mid-September and runs through mid-November, aligns with international awareness days for atopic dermatitis (September 14) and psoriasis (October 29). Outreach efforts include television and cinema spots, radio advertisements, and visual art displays in Athens and Thessaloniki.
