Hellenic Olympic Committee President presents Team Hellas vision in Washington

Isidoros Kouvelis, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC), presented the vision for ‘Team Hellas’ during the National Hellenic Society’s Heritage Weekend in Washington, D.C. In his keynote address, Kouvelis called for the active participation of the Greek-American community to support Greek athletes in their journey toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Kouvelis outlined a new philosophy for the HOC, aiming to build a stronger, more independent, and more outward-looking organization that remains closely connected to its athletes. He emphasized the importance of the Greek diaspora in strengthening the efforts of Greek athletes as they prepare for the global sporting event.

The event also featured Greek MP Dora Bakoyannis, contributing to discussions regarding Greek identity and the enduring ties between Greece and the United States.
