Hellenic Parliament security alert lifted after bomb threat

A bomb threat triggered a security alert at the Hellenic Parliament on Sunday afternoon. An unidentified man called the Parliament's telephone center at 16:49, claiming a bomb had been placed inside the building, though he did not specify a timeframe.

Police and fire departments rushed to the site, and standard security protocols were activated. Following an initial inspection by Parliament police that yielded no findings, members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (TEEM) conducted a thorough search of the premises, both inside and outside the facilities, using specialized service dogs. The alert was subsequently lifted after no explosive devices were discovered.
