Hellenic Police receive domestic violence investigation training

As part of a bilateral police cooperation agreement between Greece and France, a specialized training program was held in Athens from October 19 to 23, 2026. The program focused on the investigation of domestic violence incidents, specifically targeting the methods used to interview minor victims and witnesses to ensure the reliability of their testimony.

Twenty-two officers from the Hellenic Police Headquarters and the General Police Directorate of Attica participated in the training. The curriculum combined theoretical instruction with practical exercises, covering communication techniques with minors, creating safe and supportive environments during interviews, preventing secondary victimization, and documenting processes for criminal proceedings.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the skills of Hellenic Police personnel handling domestic violence cases. The goal is to enhance response quality across Greece through the national network of 63 Domestic Violence Response Offices.
