Hellenic Red Cross marks International Youth Day with calls for volunteerism

To mark International Youth Day on August 12, the Hellenic Red Cross has issued a call to parents to involve children in the programs managed by its Youth Sector. These initiatives aim to teach values such as humanitarianism, social solidarity, and respect for animals through voluntary service.

The Youth Sector conducts various environmental activities across Greece, including beach cleanups and tree planting, to foster environmental awareness. Additionally, youth volunteers participate in all humanitarian actions organized by the Hellenic Red Cross. The sector has a long history of promoting volunteerism among the younger generation, dating back to 1924.
