Hellenic Rescue Team Messinia to host volunteer Open Day in Kalamata

The Hellenic Rescue Team (EOD) Messinia is hosting an Open Day for volunteering on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 19:00. The event will take place at the team's base in Kalamata, located at the intersection of Frantzi and Railway Station streets in the old OSE building.

The session serves as an introductory meeting for new volunteers, offering insights into the team's operations and training programs. Topics to be presented include first aid, disaster response (fires, earthquakes, and floods), mountain rescue, water rescue, search for missing persons, and the use of specialized rescue equipment. Additionally, the team will demonstrate the work of search dogs and discuss participation in certified exercises and humanitarian missions.

Participation is open to individuals aged 18 and older, with no upper age limit or prior experience required. The organization emphasizes that candidates should possess a willingness to serve, responsibility, a spirit of cooperation, and a commitment to systematic training.
