Hellín: UGT union condemns assault on waste collection worker

The UGT Servicios Públicos union in Albacete has strongly condemned an assault on a waste collection driver in the Calvario neighborhood of Hellín. The incident occurred during the early hours of September 2 and 3 on Resucitado Street.

UGT claims this is not an isolated event and notes that similar incidents frequently occur during summer months. The union is demanding that the company and the City Council implement immediate measures to ensure worker safety. They specifically questioned the decision to maintain nighttime collection schedules in this area, suggesting that moving services to morning hours—as was done in previous years—could prevent such foreseeable risks.
