Hellowork survey reveals mismatch between candidates and employers

A new survey by Hellowork highlights a growing mismatch between job seekers and employer requirements in the French labor market. While the volume of applications per job offer increased by 18% over the past year, recruiters report that approximately 75% of these applications do not meet their specific needs, leading to concerns regarding the quality of recruitment.

Key findings from the report indicate that 53.8% of recruiters now identify a shortage of sought-after skills as their primary challenge. This trend is compounded by rising candidate expectations, particularly regarding salary demands, which 73.1% of recruiters noted as a significant change.

On the candidate side, 96% have at some point declined to apply for a position. The primary deterrents include unrealistic job requirements, imprecise descriptions, and a lack of salary transparency. Despite these frictions, nearly 70% of recruiters anticipate that recruitment volumes will remain stable or increase through 2026.
