Helmond reconstruction reveals old water well and coal cellar

During reconstruction work at the Kasteel-Traverse in Helmond, workers discovered the remains of an old water well and a coal cellar. An archaeologist inspected the findings, which have since been released and covered to allow construction on the southern roadway to continue.

The municipality of Helmond stated that these discoveries will not impact the progress of the ongoing project. This follows similar archaeological excavations conducted in 2020 at the Zuid Koninginnewal and Kerkstraat-Zuid locations.
