Helsinki bus collision leaves several injured on Ring Road I

Two HSL buses were involved in a collision on Ring Road I (Kehä I) near Myllypuro in Helsinki on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred when one bus struck the rear of another bus while approaching a stop at approximately 40 km/h.

Emergency services, including medical helicopters and ambulances, responded to the scene. Reports indicate that several people were injured; one person sustained serious injuries while others suffered minor injuries, including a child. Some passengers were taken to the hospital for observation or treatment, with one witness describing a scene of panic and blood inside the vehicles.

Police are currently investigating the incident as a case of serious traffic endangerment. The driver of the rear bus is considered a suspect. Traffic on Ring Road I heading east from Myllypuro was temporarily halted but has since been restored.
