Helvécia and Nagybánya host seasonal cultural festivals

The 32nd Harvest Days began in Helvécia on September 4, 2026. The two-day event features a ceremonial opening, crop blessings, local awards, and various performances including musical shows, fire juggling, and a parade. During the opening, local officials and János Molnár, State Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, addressed attendees. Awards for service to Helvécia were presented to Éva Tóth Gyuláné for her work in educational research and Police Sergeant Major István Ernhoffer for his contributions to public safety.

In Nagybánya, the 21st Főtér Festival and Hungarian Days of Nagybánya are scheduled from September 7 to 13, 2026. The festival includes concerts, exhibitions, and community programs held in the main square and other city locations. Highlights include film screenings, wine tastings, textile art exhibitions, and dance performances by the Bekecs Dance Theatre. Family-oriented activities such as workshops, craft fairs, and folk dance gatherings are also part of the week-long program.
