Helvellyn mountain rescue saves dog missing for three weeks

A dog named Teddy has been rescued after spending nearly three weeks missing on Helvellyn in the Lake District. Teddy originally disappeared on August 2.

On August 21, a volunteer searcher located the dog in Dry Gill after hearing barking. Due to the dangerous terrain, the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called to assist. The rescue operation involved seven team members and took approximately three and a half hours.

While Teddy had lost a significant amount of weight, he had no obvious injuries. He was provided with a small amount of food and secured in a rucksack to be carried down to the Swirls car park, where he was reunited with his owner and taken to a veterinarian.
