Hemant Soren directs welfare action in Godda and manages cabinet vacancy

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered the Godda Deputy Commissioner to take immediate action regarding a report of a resident living without basic government welfare. The report identified Shankar Manjhi, who was allegedly residing in a hut without an Aadhaar card, pension, or housing support. The Chief Minister requested that officials ensure the individual is connected to all eligible government schemes and provide a follow-up report once assistance is rendered.

Separately, the Hemant Soren administration is facing speculation regarding ministerial vacancies following the death of minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu. The cabinet strength has decreased from ten to nine members. Discussions are ongoing as to whether the government will appoint a new representative from Giridih or entrust the position to a family member of the deceased leader, similar to previous instances in the state.
