Hematology Day 2026 to focus on translational research in Poland

The Institute of Human Genetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences is organizing Hematology Day 2026 on October 20. The event, themed ‘Science That Heals – Translational Research in Hemato-oncology,’ aims to bridge the gap between biological discovery and medical application, such as improved diagnostics and therapies.

The program includes lectures on translating oncological science into therapy, the interaction between somatic and constitutional genomes in acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and the genomic origins of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Speakers include experts from the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Medical University of Lodz, and University College London.

Separately, Professor Pasiarski has noted that while the field of hematology is advancing, there remains a significant shortage of medical specialists in the sector.
