Hemus Motorway gas station crash leaves woman in critical condition

A serious accident occurred at a gas station near the Hemus Motorway at kilometer 43 in the direction of Sofia. According to the Sofia Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, a Skoda vehicle drove between fuel pumps, striking a woman who had exited another vehicle.

The driver failed to stop immediately, continuing forward to strike a stationary Volkswagen before finally crashing into a fuel pump. The victim was rushed to a hospital in Sofia and is currently in intensive care in critical condition.

Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation to determine the cause of the incident. Recent data from the Ministry of Interior indicates a high frequency of road accidents in Bulgaria, with 205 serious incidents recorded since the beginning of August, resulting in 244 injuries and six deaths.
