Henan cultural tourism conference and exhibition held in Indonesia

The Henan Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference and Heluo Culture Exhibition were held in Bandung, Indonesia, on September 3. The event was attended by over 100 representatives from the Indonesian government, business sectors, media, overseas Chinese business associations, and cultural and tourism institutions.

The exhibition showcased the cultural heritage of Henan, including ancient cities, martial arts, porcelain, and Chinese character culture. To encourage tourism, five specific travel routes were introduced for Indonesian travelers: ‘The Center of Heaven and Earth’, ‘Kung Fu in the Central Plains’, ‘Poetic Land of Henan’, ‘Craftsmanship of the Heluo Region’, and ‘A Culinary Journey to the Roots’.

In addition to the main conference, pop-up cultural activities took place across Jakarta and Bandung from September 1–3 at various landmarks, shopping centers, and universities. These activities featured intangible cultural heritage demonstrations such as paper cutting, incense culture, traditional medicine, tea ceremonies, Tang Sancai ceramics, martial arts, and traditional music. Erwan Setiawan, Vice Governor of West Java, noted the cultural similarities between Henan and Indonesia, expressing hope for increased cultural engagement between the two regions.
