Henar Álvarez predicts electoral disinformation from Puerta del Sol

Presenter Henar Álvarez broadcasted from the Puerta del Sol in Madrid, joining housing rights activists to address the rise of disinformation ahead of the upcoming elections. Álvarez criticized years of impunity regarding falsehoods spread by politicians and media outlets, noting a trend where even young people adopt anti-democratic stances.

To highlight expected misinformation, Álvarez presented a “quiniela de mentiras” (a list of predicted lies) she expects to hear before November 29. Her list includes claims regarding potential war with Morocco, immigration influencing votes, the abolition of Christmas, and various attacks on feminist laws and the pension system.

During the broadcast, Álvarez was joined by Alicia del Río, spokesperson for the Sindicato de Inquilinas (Tenants' Union). Del Río discussed the impact of recent housing mobilizations, stating that eight days of movement had achieved more than an entire legislative term. She advocated for a general strike to secure housing rights, describing the movement as a “social clamor.”
