Hendon Hooker waived by Tennessee Titans after preseason

Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker has been waived by the Tennessee Titans following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL preseason. Despite a strong performance in the final preseason game against the Chicago Bears, where he showcased his running ability, Hooker failed to secure a spot on the team's 53-man roster.

The decision leaves the Titans with only two quarterbacks on their active roster. Hooker, a 2023 third-round pick by the Detroit Lions, has struggled to find stability in the NFL, previously spending time on the practice squads of the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets. While he has been waived from the active roster, he may still have the opportunity to join the Titans' practice squad.
