Hendrikje Balsmeyer honors Peter Maffay on 11th anniversary

Hendrikje Balsmeyer has shared an emotional tribute to her husband, musician Peter Maffay, on Instagram to mark the eleventh anniversary of their first meeting. In her post, the 39-year-old teacher reflected on their journey, noting how they have both changed while building a family together.

Balsmeyer described their relationship as one that has faced challenges, stating that they have “fallen” at times but always “gotten back up and kept walking hand in hand.” She concluded her message with a personal declaration of affection, referencing Maffay’s 1970 song “Du.”

The couple met in October 2015 and have a seven-year-old daughter, Anouk. They married privately in April 2022, a union that Maffay officially confirmed in September 2023.
