Henk Fraser appointed head coach of Suriname national football team

The Surinamese Football Association (SVB) announced on 28 July that Dutch‑born former defender Henk Fraser will take over as head coach of the Suriname men’s national team. Fraser, who previously served as assistant to former coach Stanley Menzo, was presented at a ceremony in Paramaribo after joining the staff in August 2025.

Fraser brings a résumé that includes playing for Sparta Rotterdam, Feyenoord and the Dutch national team, as well as coaching spells at ADO Den Haag, Vitesse, FC Utrecht and a spell as assistant to Louis van Gaal with the Netherlands. Under his guidance Suriname will compete in the CONCACAF Nations League A starting September, with matches against Honduras, Jamaica, Guatemala, Martinique and El Salvador.
