Henkel announces 5 billion euro acquisition strategy
Henkel has agreed to or completed acquisitions totaling approximately five billion euros in recent months, according to CEO Carsten Knobel. The company is prioritizing growth through a portfolio strategy targeting two main divisions: the adhesive business, which includes brands such as Pattex and Pritt, and the consumer goods division, which includes Persil, Schwarzkopf, and Pril.
Despite the push for expansion, the company faces economic pressures. Knobel noted that rising energy and raw material costs are impacting operations. Additionally, the company is finding it increasingly difficult to implement price increases for consumer goods, as market conditions lead customers to demand price reductions.
