Henkel receives EU approval for €2.1 billion Stahl Parent acquisition
The European Commission has approved Henkel’s acquisition of the Dutch specialty coatings manufacturer Stahl Parent B.V. Following a merger control investigation, the Commission concluded that the transaction raises “no competition concerns” and would have limited impact on the markets for industrial coatings and adhesives.
Henkel announced the €2.1 billion deal in February, purchasing the company from the French private equity firm Wendel. Stahl Parent specializes in high-performance coatings for flexible materials, including leather, paper packaging, and graphic applications. The company serves global industries such as automotive, fashion, lifestyle, and packaging, reporting an adjusted revenue of approximately €725 million last year.
