Henkel sets 2030 sustainability targets, aims for net‑zero by 2045

Henkel announced new mid‑term sustainability goals to be achieved by 2030. The German chemicals group pledged to cut absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse‑gas emissions by 42 % and Scope 3 emissions by 30 %, with a net‑zero target for 2045. It also aims to raise the share of recycled plastic in consumer packaging to at least 35 % and to design 100 % of packaging for recyclability. The company plans to reach at least 45 % gender balance across management levels, ensure global pay equity, and have 85 % of its suppliers meet defined sustainability standards. CEO Carsten Knobel and Executive Vice President Sylvie Nicol highlighted the ambition as part of Henkel’s 150‑year heritage of responsible growth and a holistic approach to climate action, equity and sustainable supply chains.
