Serplulimab shows positive results in small cell lung cancer study

Henlius Biotech Inc. and Accord Healthcare UK have announced positive results from the Astride study, a randomized open-label descriptive study conducted in the United States. The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of serplulimab, an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody, compared to the standard of care, atezolizumab, in adult patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (Es-Sclc).

The results, presented at the ESMO congress in Madrid, showed a median overall survival of 12.39 months for patients treated with serplulimab, compared to 10.15 months for those receiving atezolizumab, representing a numerical difference of 2.24 months. The Astride study was designed to provide the FDA with additional data on serplulimab in a population more representative of Western clinical practice to support the phase 3 Astrum-005 clinical trial results.
