Hennebont and Clisson host medieval festivals in July 2026

The town of Hennebont in western France will celebrate the 30th edition of its Médiévales on 25‑26 July 2026. The two‑day programme features a costumed parade, medieval tournaments, music, dance, street shows and, for the first time, two fire‑spectacle performances on the Saturday night. Organisers advise reserving spots for tournaments and fire shows and have arranged free shuttle‑buses to keep the city centre pedestrian‑only throughout the weekend.

Meanwhile, the town of Clisson will stage the 21st edition of its Médiévales on 18‑19 July 2026. Highlights include a costume parade, sword‑fighting demonstrations, medieval dances, a banquet called “Ripailles” under the Halles, and a medieval ball. The event will also host a market of local artisans, workshops, and performances by various troupes across the castle grounds and surrounding esplanade. Both festivals aim to recreate medieval life for families and attract thousands of visitors.
