Hennessey Blackbird and Toyota GR GT debut ultra‑rare V8 supersport cars

American tuner Hennessey Performance unveiled the Blackbird, a naturally‑aspirated V8 hypercar with rear‑wheel drive, a manual gearbox and active vertical tail fins. The model rejects hybrid and digital aids to deliver a pure driver‑focused experience, drawing design inspiration from the Lockheed SR‑71 Blackbird aircraft. Production numbers are expected to be very limited.

Toyota announced its GR GT, a mid‑engine V8 supersport car derived from the GR‑GT3 race car. The Japanese automaker plans to build roughly 500 units, pricing the vehicle above €200,000. The GR GT may be offered in multiple variants, including a potential track‑focused version, and aims to join the ranks of rare, high‑performance models such as the Lexus LFA.
