Hennessey unveils Blackbird hypercar inspired by SR-71

Hennessey Special Vehicles has unveiled the Blackbird, a new hypercar designed as an analog tribute to the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. Unlike the high-speed focus of the Venom F5 series, the Blackbird emphasizes a more tactile, manual driving experience in response to customer demand for analog sensibilities.

The vehicle features a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V-8 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Hennessey claims the car will reach a top speed of 220 mph (354 km/hr). Design director Nathan Malinick described the project as a response to a growing desire for a material connection to the driving experience.
