Hennie van der Most faces further bankruptcies and 3 million euro repayment order
A series of bankruptcies continues to impact the business empire of Hennie van der Most. A 69-year-old real estate businessman, previously detained in The Hague on suspicion of embezzlement, money laundering, and fraud, has had his real estate companies declared bankrupt. A court has held him liable for these bankruptcies, ordering him to repay 3 million euros in advances to investors.
In addition to the real estate failures, Materieelverhuur Van der Most in Schuinesloot, a company involved in the lease of vehicles and machinery, has also been declared bankrupt. This follows the collapse of other entities, such as the Rivoli theme park in Rotterdam.
Liquidators are currently managing the fallout. Auctions are being held for the remaining assets of the Van der Most empire, including Speelstad Oranje in Drenthe and the Most industrial estate in Schuinesloot.
