Henny Reistad signs with Brest Bretagne Handball
Henny Reistad, the Norwegian handball star and three-time IHF World Player of the Year, has signed with the French club Brest Bretagne Handball. The transfer is set to take effect in the summer of 2027 following her departure from the Danish side Team Esbjerg at the end of the current season.
Reistad, 27, brings an extensive trophy cabinet to Brest, including Olympic, World, and European titles with the Norwegian national team. Her move is viewed as a major strategic step for Brest as they aim to dominate European competition and secure the Champions League title. The club is reportedly investing heavily in its project, with budgets estimated to reach up to 9 million euros in the coming seasons.
Team Esbjerg has officially confirmed that Reistad will leave after six seasons, a move experts suggest will necessitate a significant rebuilding process for the Danish club as they look to maintain their competitive standing in Europe.
