Henri Coandă International Airport closes Arrivals parking for modernization

Henri Coandă International Airport in Otopeni has announced the complete temporary closure of the Arrivals Terminal parking facility, effective Wednesday, August 19, 2026. This closure is part of a major modernization and structural consolidation project aimed at addressing significant degradation to the building's structure, facades, and interior elements since its construction in 2003.

The second stage of the project will result in the loss of 588 parking spaces. To mitigate the impact, passengers are being redirected to other available airport parking lots. The airport plans to introduce a new parking area this autumn to supplement capacity.

Travelers using taxis, ride-sharing services, or public transport should note that the taxi station and ride-sharing pickup zones are located in front of the Departures Terminal. Additionally, bus lines 100 and 442 will stop exclusively at the Departures station. The airport has implemented special signage and marked routes to guide passengers toward public transport options, including the CFR train station and STB stops.
