Henrik Kristoffersen reveals wife's postpartum medical complication

Norwegian alpine skier Henrik Kristoffersen has shared that his wife, Tonje, experienced a rare medical complication following the birth of their second daughter, Linnea, in late July.

While the delivery itself proceeded without incident, doctors discovered a rare blood clot in a blood vessel in Tonje’s fallopian tube shortly after the birth. The family spent several weeks traveling between their home and a hospital in Salzburg, Austria, for medical care. Tonje received immediate treatment with blood thinners and continued medication for several weeks.

Kristoffersen stated that while the situation was not extremely dramatic, he was deeply concerned for his wife’s health. He noted that the couple decided to share the news not to seek sympathy, but to acknowledge that life is not always easy. The family has since returned home, and all members are reported to be doing well.
