Henrik Larsson withdraws from Finnkampen due to ankle injury

Swedish star sprinter Henrik Larsson has withdrawn from the upcoming Finnkampen competition due to ongoing injury concerns. Larsson stated that his primary issue is a left ankle injury that will soon require surgery.

Larsson, who has faced various injuries over the past year, noted that his body has not recovered as expected following the European Championships. He described feeling general aches and stiffness, but emphasized that the ankle surgery is necessary to address long-standing issues dating back to March of last year.

Swedish Athletics Association captain Kajsa Bergqvist expressed disappointment at his absence, noting Larsson's reliability as a scorer in the competition. Larsson will be replaced by Filip Olsson for the 100 meters and Zion Eriksson for the 200 meters.
