Henrique Bravo finishes 50th in Tour de l’Avenir opening stage

Brazilian cyclist Henrique Bravo finished in 50th place during the first stage of the Tour de l’Avenir in France. Competing for the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team, Bravo completed the 151.9 km route from Ouistreham Riva-Bella to Argentan, finishing 1 minute and 56 seconds behind the stage winner, Niels Driesen of Lotto-Groupe Wanty.

The opening stage was characterized by difficult weather conditions, including rain, cold, and crosswinds that caused the peloton to fragment into echelons. Bravo’s performance was hampered by several setbacks, including three teammates falling behind around kilometer 60 and Bravo himself suffering a crash during the final lap. Despite these challenges, Bravo remains focused on improving his position during the upcoming mountain stages.

Bravo enters the competition following a strong season, including a victory at the Giro della Valle d’Aosta. The Tour de l’Avenir is a premier event for under-23 cyclists, featuring both national teams and development squads.
