Henrique de Oliveira Félix killed in Várzea Alegre shooting

On the early morning of Saturday, 31‑year‑old Henrique de Oliveira Félix was shot dead in the Travessa Dona Lili near Praça da Lagoa in Várzea Alegre, Ceará. The killing followed a dispute inside a local convenience store with a man identified only as “Zé Ivan”. After the argument, Zé Ivan left, returned brandishing a firearm and shot Félix as he tried to flee.

Police say both the victim and the suspect have prior criminal records; Félix was linked to drug trafficking and domestic‑violence cases, while Zé Ivan is under investigation for another homicide. The incident was captured by nearby security cameras, and investigators are searching for the suspect. This was the first homicide recorded in the Cariri region for August.
