Henry Herrera proposes La Herradura beach restoration in Chorrillos

Henry Herrera, the Alianza para el Progreso (APP) candidate for mayor of Chorrillos, has presented a campaign proposal focused on restoring La Herradura beach. To combat sand loss at the traditional resort, the plan includes constructing two jetties to encourage natural sand return, a new boardwalk, restrooms, showers, and a 2,000-capacity amphitheater.

Beyond coastal restoration, Herrera’s platform includes sports and security initiatives, such as a volleyball coliseum and a skate park in Aguadulce. For public safety, he proposes deploying 20 drones capable of speeds up to 120 km/h to patrol the district. According to a September 2026 survey by Idice del Perú SAC, Herrera currently leads voter preferences in Chorrillos with 32%.
