Henry Martín discusses resurgence with Club América
Club América captain Henry Martín expressed optimism regarding his recent form, stating he is ‘coming out of the ashes’ following a period marked by injuries and a scoring drought. After scoring twice against Bravos de Juárez in the Apertura 2026, Martín credited the high standards of Club América and the leadership of coach Guillermo Almada for helping him develop the mental toughness required to overcome recent challenges.
During a period spanning late 2025 and the first half of 2026, Martín appeared in only 24 of 61 possible Liga MX matches, scoring just two goals. However, he has already surpassed that total with three goals in the first five matches of the current tournament.
Martín is currently preparing for a Leagues Cup quarter-final match against Columbus Crew in Carson, California. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming fixture and expressed gratitude for the support of the fans, noting the team's goal to advance in the competition.
