Henry Ndukuba urges Nigerian leaders to emulate Obafemi Awolowo

The Anglican Primate of All Nigeria, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, has called on the nation’s political class to adopt the selfless leadership style of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Speaking at a dinner organized by the Awolowo family in Ogun State, Ndukuba emphasized that true leadership must be rooted in service and sacrifice for the common good rather than personal gain.

Ndukuba drew parallels between Awolowo’s commitment to humanity and the example of Jesus Christ, noting that meaningful leaders are those who live sacrificially to serve others. He highlighted Awolowo’s legacy, including his pioneering social welfare programs and free primary education in the former Western Region, as benchmarks for impactful governance.

The Primate’s remarks come as Nigeria faces significant economic pressures and security challenges, with many citizens calling for greater government accountability regarding the rising cost of living and social inequality.
