Henry Winkler reveals memento kept from day of John Ritter's death

Actor Henry Winkler has revealed that he has kept a memento from the set of the sitcom ‘8 Simple Rules’ to remember his colleague John Ritter. The memento is a water bottle that Winkler took from the set on the day Ritter died in 2003.

Winkler recounted his final interaction with Ritter, noting that they were reminiscing before Ritter mentioned needing water. Ritter passed away later that day at age 54 following an aortic dissection during emergency surgery. Winkler, who was scheduled to guest star on the series, stated that he has kept the water bottle in its “weird state” ever since.
