Henry Zankov debuts first Diane von Furstenberg collection

Henry Zankov has debuted his first collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. Staged on Manhattan’s High Line, the runway show marked the brand’s return to hosting New York Fashion Week events after nearly a decade.

Drawing inspiration from the concept of ‘body language,’ Zankov focused on how garments move and communicate with the wearer. The collection utilized fluid fabrics such as jersey, chiffon, and satin jersey to create silhouettes that emphasize movement. While the brand’s iconic wrap dress appeared in the lineup, Zankov also introduced new interpretations of wrapping, including ballerina tops, draped T-shirts, and scarf-like panels.

The aesthetic blended archival elements, such as leopard prints, with modern color-focused designs featuring shades of tomato red, peacock blue, jade, and fuchsia. The collection aimed to modernize the house’s established visual vocabulary, incorporating a Studio 54-era sensibility through colorful suiting, colorblocked outerwear, and gauzy textures.
