Henryk M. Broder celebrates 80th birthday and book re-release

German publicist and author Henryk M. Broder is celebrating his 80th birthday. In light of the milestone, his classic work, ‘Der ewige Antisemit’, is being re-released in its original version with a new foreword after 40 years.

In recent discussions, Broder addressed the nature of antisemitism, describing it as an emotional phenomenon that does not require the presence of Jewish people to exist. He argued that while Israeli policy can exacerbate antisemitic sentiments, the attacks on the state are often rooted in its existence rather than its specific actions. Broder also expressed concern regarding antisemitism among migrant populations, noting that some individuals bring cultural prejudices with them to Europe.
