HEP ODS to invest 3.32 billion euros in grid development

HEP ODS has announced a ten-year development plan for its distribution network spanning from 2027 to 2036, involving a total investment of 3.32 billion euros. The plan is currently undergoing public consultation by the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA) until October 26, 2026.

Of the total budget, 83.2 percent is allocated to energy facilities. The largest portion, 35.8 percent, is designated for 10 kV and 20 kV voltage level objects, followed by 23.7 percent for 0.4 kV low-voltage networks. Other allocations include 14.8 percent for 110 kV objects and 8.9 percent for 35(30) kV objects.

A significant 1.38 billion euros is earmarked for creating electrical conditions and connecting new users, driven by the increasing pressure from renewable energy sources, large infrastructure projects, and the electrification of transport. For the first three years (2027–2029), investments are expected to average approximately 200.1 million euros annually.
